Today is dedicated to the architectural masterpieces of the Hoysala Empire. We visit Halebid, the ancient capital, to see the Hoysaleswara Temple, known for its intricate stone carvings. Next, we visit Belur to explore the Chennakesava Temple, a marvel of fine craftsmanship. These temples are UNESCO world heritage nominees. Later, we drive to Shravanabelagola, home to the world’s tallest monolithic stone statue of Lord Bahubali (Gommateshwara).
