Day 1 - Arrival in Chennai

Welcome to Chennai, the gateway to South India! Upon arrival at Chennai International Airport, you will be greeted by our South India Tours & Travels representative. Transfer to your hotel and relax. In the afternoon, visit the Kapaleeshwarar Temple, a masterpiece of Dravidian architecture, and the Santhome Cathedral. End your day with a breeze-filled evening at Marina Beach. Day 2 - Chennai to Mahabalipuram

Drive to Mahabalipuram, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the majestic Shore Temple, the monolithic Five Rathas, and Arjuna's Penance, one of the largest bas-reliefs in the world. Witness the balancing marvel of Krishna’s Butter Ball. Overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.

Day 3 - Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry

Travel to the charming French colonial town of Pondicherry. Visit Auroville and the Matrimandir viewpoint. Stroll through the White Town (French Quarter) with its distinct architecture and enjoy the serene atmosphere of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Relax at Promenade Beach in the evening. Overnight stay in Pondicherry.

Day 4 - Pondicherry to Thanjavur

Drive towards Thanjavur, stopping enroute at Chidambaram to see the Nataraja Temple. Upon reaching Thanjavur, visit the Brihadeeswarar Temple (The Big Temple), an architectural wonder of the Chola Empire. Explore the Royal Palace museum and library. Overnight stay in Thanjavur.

Day 5 - Thanjavur to Trichy

A short drive takes you to Tiruchirappalli (Trichy). Visit the massive Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Temple, located on an island. Later, climb the 437 steps of the Rockfort Temple for a panoramic view of the city. Overnight stay in Trichy.

Day 6 - Trichy to Madurai

Continue your journey to the ancient city of Madurai. Visit the world-renowned Meenakshi Amman Temple, famous for its towering gopurams and Thousand Pillar Hall. In the evening, witness the spectacular "Night Ceremony" at the temple. Overnight stay in Madurai.

Day 7 - Madurai to Thekkady

Enter the "God’s Own Country" as you drive to Thekkady. The route is filled with spice plantations. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on Periyar Lake inside the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Spot elephants and wild boars by the water. Overnight stay in Thekkady.

Day 8 - Thekkady Exploration

Spend the day exploring the spice heartland. Visit a spice plantation to learn about cardamom, pepper, and cinnamon. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kathakali dance performance or a Kalaripayattu martial arts show. Overnight stay in Thekkady.

Day 9 - Thekkady to Alappuzha (Houseboat)

Drive to Alleppey and board a private Luxury Houseboat. Cruise through the tranquil backwaters, passing through lush paddy fields and coconut groves. Enjoy freshly prepared Kerala cuisine on board. Overnight stay on the Houseboat.

Day 10 - Alappuzha to Kochi

Disembark and drive to the historic port city of Kochi (Cochin). Visit the Fort Kochi area, the Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, and the Dutch Palace. Explore the vibrant Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town for antique shopping. Overnight stay in Kochi.

Day 11 - Kochi to Ooty

Head to the "Queen of Hill Stations" – Ooty. The drive through the Nilgiri hills offers breathtaking views. Upon arrival, check into your resort and enjoy the cool mountain air. Overnight stay in Ooty.

Day 12 - Ooty Sightseeing

Visit the Government Botanical Garden, the serene Ooty Lake (where you can enjoy boating), and Doddabetta Peak for a stunning view of the valley. Explore the Rose Garden and the local tea museum. Overnight stay in Ooty.

Day 13 - Ooty to Mysuru

Drive to Mysuru (Mysore), the city of palaces. Enroute, pass through Bandipur National Park. In the evening, visit the beautifully lit Brindavan Gardens. Overnight stay in Mysuru.

Day 14 - Mysuru Sightseeing

Explore the magnificent Mysore Palace, a blend of Hindu, Islamic, and Gothic architecture. Visit Chamundi Hills to see the Chamundeshwari Temple and the giant Nandi statue. Visit the St. Philomena's Church. Overnight stay in Mysuru.

Day 15 - Mysuru to Hassan

Drive to Hassan. Enroute, visit Sravanabelagola to see the world's tallest monolithic statue of Gommateshwara. Later, explore the Hoysala temples of Belur and Halebidu, famous for their intricate stone carvings. Overnight stay in Hassan.

Day 16 - Hassan to Hospet (Hampi)

Proceed on a long drive to Hospet, the gateway to the ruins of the Vijayanagara Empire (Hampi). Relax at the hotel upon arrival. Overnight stay in Hospet.

Day 17 - Hampi Exploration

Spend a full day exploring Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the Virupaksha Temple, the Vittala Temple with its famous Stone Chariot, the Lotus Mahal, and the Elephant Stables. Marvel at the boulder-strewn landscape. Overnight stay in Hospet.

Day 18 - Hospet to Badami

Drive to Badami. Enroute, visit the historical sites of Aihole and Pattadakal, known for their early Chalukyan architecture. Upon reaching Badami, visit the famous cave temples carved out of sandstone. Overnight stay in Badami.

Day 19 - Badami to Goa

Leave the heritage sites behind and drive to the golden beaches of Goa. Transition from historical ruins to coastal vibes. Check into your beach resort. Overnight stay in Goa.

Day 20 - North Goa Sightseeing

Explore North Goa’s famous beaches: Calangute, Baga, and Anjuna. Visit the 17th-century Aguada Fort and the lighthouse. Enjoy the vibrant shacks and water sports. Overnight stay in Goa.

Day 21 - South Goa & Old Goa

Visit Old Goa, home to the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral. Later, head to the quieter beaches of South Goa like Colva or Palolem for a relaxing evening. Overnight stay in Goa.

Day 22 - Goa (Free Day)

A day at leisure. Relax on the beach, visit local markets for souvenirs, or enjoy the nightlife of Goa. This is your day to unwind after the long journey. Overnight stay in Goa.

Day 23 - Departure from Goa

After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to the Goa Dabolim Airport or Manohar International Airport for your flight back home. Your grand 23-day South India odyssey concludes with unforgettable memories.
