Day 01 : Arrival in Chennai - Cultural Start

Welcome to Chennai, the vibrant gateway to South India! Upon your arrival at Chennai Airport or Railway Station, our South India Tours & Travels representative will warmly welcome you and facilitate your transfer to the hotel. After settling in and a brief relaxation, we begin our exploration with the Kapaleeshwarar Temple in Mylapore, an iconic example of Dravidian architecture dedicated to Lord Shiva. As the evening approaches, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the famous Marina Beach, breathing in the sea breeze and witnessing the local life. Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day 02 : Chennai - Mahabalipuram - Kanchipuram

After a hearty breakfast, we checkout and drive towards the UNESCO World Heritage site, Mahabalipuram. Here, we marvel at the ancient rock-cut wonders including the Shore Temple, the Five Rathas (Pancha Rathas), and the massive open-air bas-relief, Arjuna’s Penance. After exploring these stone masterpieces, we proceed to Kanchipuram, world-renowned as the "City of a Thousand Temples" and the home of exquisite hand-woven silk sarees. We visit the Kamakshi Amman Temple and the ancient Ekambareswarar Temple. Overnight stay in Kanchipuram.

Day 03 : Kanchipuram - Srikalahasti - Tirupati

Today, our spiritual journey continues as we drive to Srikalahasti, home to one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalas representing the element of Air (Vayu Lingam). The temple is famous for its Rahu-Ketu Sarpa Dosha Nivarana Puja. After seeking blessings, we drive to the holy hills of Tirupati. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening in prayerful preparation for your visit to the sacred Tirumala hills. Overnight stay in Tirupati.

Day 04 : Tirupati - Vellore Golden Temple

Early in the morning, proceed to Tirumala for a divine Darshan of Lord Venkateswara. The spiritual energy of the seven hills is truly captivating. After the darshan, we descend the hills and drive towards Vellore. The highlight of the evening is the visit to the Sripuram Golden Temple, a magnificent structure plated with 1500kg of pure gold, situated amidst a lush green spiritual park. We also take a moment to admire the historic Vellore Fort. Overnight stay in Vellore.

Day 05 : Vellore - Tiruvannamalai (Agni Sthalam)

After breakfast, we head to the powerful spiritual hub of Tiruvannamalai. This sacred town is situated at the foot of the holy Annamalai Hill and houses the sprawling Arunachaleswarar Temple, representing the element of Fire. We visit the temple and later spend peaceful moments at the Sri Ramanasramam, the abode of the great sage Ramana Maharshi. The atmosphere here is perfect for meditation and introspection. Day 06 : Tiruvannamalai - Chidambaram - Kumbakonam

Today we drive to Chidambaram to visit the world-famous Natarajar Temple, which represents the element of Ether (Sky). Witness the cosmic dance of Lord Shiva in the form of Nataraja. Post lunch, we continue our journey to Kumbakonam, a town densely packed with medieval temples and holy tanks. On arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the divine vibrations of this temple town. Overnight stay in Kumbakonam.

Day 07 : Kumbakonam - Thanjavur (Big Temple)

Morning exploration of Kumbakonam's famous shrines like the Sarangapani and Adi Kumbeswarar temples. Later, we drive to Thanjavur, the capital of the mighty Chola Empire. We visit the architectural marvel, the Brihadeeswarar Temple (The Big Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its massive Vimana and intricate carvings. We also visit the Thanjavur Royal Palace and Museum to see the Chola bronze collection. Overnight stay in Thanjavur.

Day 08 : Thanjavur - Trichy (Srirangam)

After breakfast, we drive to Trichy (Tiruchirappalli). Our first stop is Srirangam, an island town housing the massive Ranganathaswamy Temple, one of the largest functioning religious complexes in the world. Later, we visit the Rockfort Ucchi Pillayar Temple, climbing the stone steps to get a panoramic view of the entire city and the Cauvery river. Overnight stay in Trichy.

Day 09 : Trichy - Madurai (Temple City)

We travel to the ancient city of Madurai, often called the "Athens of the East." After checking in, we visit the Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace, an 18th-century Italian-style masterpiece. In the evening, we visit the magnificent Meenakshi Amman Temple, the heart of the city, featuring towering Gopurams and the Hall of a Thousand Pillars. Experience the evening prayer ceremony which is a spiritual highlight. Overnight stay in Madurai.

Day 10 : Madurai - Munnar (The Hill Retreat)

Leaving the plains behind, we drive towards the misty hills of Munnar in Kerala. As we ascend, enjoy the scenic views of waterfalls and sprawling tea plantations. Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams and offers a cool, refreshing climate. Upon arrival, check into your resort and spend the evening at leisure, enjoying the mountain air. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 11 : Munnar Full Day Sightseeing

A full day to explore the natural beauty of Munnar. We visit the Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Later, we visit the Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake for a serene boating experience. A visit to the Tea Museum provides insight into how tea is processed from leaf to cup. Wander through the aromatic spice gardens before returning to your hotel. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 12 : Munnar - Thekkady (Wildlife & Spices)

After breakfast, drive to Thekkady, home to the Periyar National Park. Here, the aroma of spices like cardamom and pepper fills the air. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on Periyar Lake, where you might spot wild elephants, boars, and various bird species. In the evening, you can witness a traditional Kathakali dance performance or a Kalaripayattu martial arts show. Overnight stay in Thekkady.

Day 13 : Thekkady - Alleppey (Houseboat Cruise)

We drive to Alleppey (Alappuzha), known as the "Venice of the East." The highlight of the trip begins as you board a traditional Kerala Houseboat. As you cruise through the tranquil backwaters, witness the unique lifestyle of the villagers living on narrow strips of land. Enjoy delicious Kerala meals prepared on board as you glide past coconut groves and paddy fields. Night stay in the Houseboat.

Day 14 : Alleppey - Kochi (Colonial Charm)

After breakfast on the houseboat, we drive to the historic port city of Kochi (Cochin). Explore Fort Kochi, where you can see the famous Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, and the Dutch Palace. Walk through the colorful Jew Town and visit the historic Synagogue. In the evening, enjoy a walk along the Marine Drive, taking in the sunset over the Arabian Sea. Overnight stay in Kochi.

Day 15 : Kochi Sightseeing & Departure

On the final day, visit the Hill Palace Museum, Kerala's first heritage museum, or do some last-minute shopping for spices and handicrafts at the local markets. Depending on your flight or train schedule, our South India Tours & Travels representative will drop you at the Kochi International Airport or Railway Station.
